Madrid announces entry field featuring all twenty top-ranked women
Sabalenka heads a 96-player draw for the first clay WTA 1000.

The Madrid Open announced an entry field containing all twenty leading players in the WTA rankings. Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek headed the list for the first WTA 1000 of the clay season, scheduled for 21 April to 3 May.
The singles draw included seventy-six direct entrants, twelve qualifiers and eight wildcards within a 96-player field. Its leading thirty-two seeds were to receive first-round byes, with the draw scheduled for release on 19 April at six o’clock local time.
Sabalenka returned as a three-time champion after titles in 2021, 2023 and 2025. Other announced entrants included Naomi Osaka, Iva Jovic, Emma Raducanu, Zheng Qinwen and Alexandra Eala. The Madrid tournament precedes Rome in the tour’s sequence of major European clay events.
