Madrid beat Real Sociedad to take La Liga lead
Vinicius converted two penalties in a 4-1 Bernabeu victory.

Real Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 4-1 at the Bernabeu to move into first place in La Liga. Their eighth successive league victory ended Sociedad’s eleven-match unbeaten sequence, with Vinicius Junior converting two penalties and Gonzalo Garcia and Federico Valverde also scoring.
Gonzalo finished Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross after five minutes. Mikel Oyarzabal equalised from the spot after Dean Huijsen conceded a penalty, but Madrid soon regained the lead through Vinicius’ first penalty. Valverde then added a shot into the top corner before half-time.
Vinicius won and converted another penalty immediately after the interval to make the score 4-1. Madrid continued to create chances, keeping control of the contest and seeing out a comfortable home win.
