Malaga was confirmed as host of the first FISU World University Championship Padel from 6 to 11 July. The University of Malaga and FIP will organise the competition, following the sport’s official recognition by the international university sports federation a year earlier.

The event was expected to welcome student athletes from universities in 32 countries. Men’s, women’s and mixed categories were planned, with delegations permitted to enter up to twelve athletes, split equally between men and women.

Each delegation can field two pairs in each category, with mixed players also eligible for the other draws. Competition was scheduled for Sport Center Teatinos and Vals Sport Consul on the University of Malaga campus.
