Martirosyan takes Agzamov Memorial on a narrow tiebreak
The Armenian grandmaster edged Artem Uskov after both finished unbeaten in Tashkent.

Haik Martirosyan won the nineteenth Agzamov Memorial in Tashkent, taking the title ahead of Artem Uskov by half a Buchholz point. The tournament honoured Uzbekistan’s first grandmaster and ran from 17 to 26 March with an $80,000 combined prize fund.
Nearly 330 players, including twenty grandmasters, entered the two ten-round Swiss competitions. Martirosyan drew his final game against Nikita Afanasiev, allowing Uskov to catch him by defeating Abhimanyu Puranik with the black pieces. Both leading players completed the event without a loss.
Abdimalik Abdisalimov completed the Open A podium after joining a group half a point behind. In Open B, Sultai Chyngyz and Umar Isomov both scored 8.5 points, with Chyngyz winning the Buchholz tiebreak.
