Matty Burgess joins Eastbourne from Worthing on loan
The midfielder seeks consistent minutes after recent minor injuries.
Source publication date:
Worthing announced a loan move for Matty Burgess to Eastbourne Borough, where the midfielder would seek regular playing time. The 22-year-old joined a nearby National League South side preparing for an important period in its effort to avoid relegation.
Burgess had made 26 Worthing appearances across four competitions after arriving in the summer. He contributed one assist but had recently experienced minor injuries and knocks that made consistent involvement in matchday squads more difficult.
The temporary move offered an opportunity to rebuild match fitness through competitive minutes. Burgess, who developed in the Brighton and Bournemouth academies, was made available for Eastbourne's following match away to Chesham United. Worthing wished him well for the spell.
