Spain men’s head coach Max Caldas outlined his team’s preparation before their Pro League campaign began. The February interview focused on the forthcoming Valencia and Hobart stages and the value of league competition during a year containing the World Cup.

Caldas said new players had gradually joined Spain’s high-performance system from September, with a finalised group working together from December. Their integration covered training methods and the practical demands of operating as a national squad over successive competition periods.

The coach identified consistency and a continuing rise in performance as priorities. Spain entered the programme after a third-place European Championship finish, with the Pro League providing an opportunity to measure the team against leading international opponents before the major tournament later in the year.
