Mboko and Andreeva advance to another Miami teenage showdown

Victoria Mboko and Mirra Andreeva won Miami Open third-round matches to arrange their third meeting of the season. Mboko beat Anastasia Zakharova 6–1, 7–5, while Andreeva defeated Marie Bouzkova 7–6(4), 6–2, continuing a rivalry already played out in Adelaide and Doha.
The teenagers had split those earlier contests and were also doubles partners in Miami. Mboko secured her second set with a late break, while Andreeva used a successful opening tiebreak to build momentum and take control against the Czech player.
Alexandra Eala defeated Magda Linette 6–3, 7–6(2), producing twenty winners and two service breaks. The Filipino player moved to two victories against Linette during the season and advanced to a first professional meeting with Karolina Muchova, who had beaten Katie Boulter in straight sets.
