The Canadian won 6–4, 6–1 on her Indian Wells debut.
Source publication date:
Victoria Mboko defeated Anna Kalinskaya 6–4, 6–1 to reach the Indian Wells fourth round in her first appearance at the tournament. The sixty-four-minute victory improved her professional record against Kalinskaya to three wins from three meetings.
The opening set stayed on serve through nine games before Mboko converted its first break opportunity to claim the set. She carried that momentum into the second, winning its first five games before completing another composed performance against the experienced opponent.
Mboko remained unbeaten in eleven season matches against players ranked outside the top twenty. The result delivered her fifteenth win of the year, following final appearances in Adelaide and Doha, and set up a first professional meeting with sixth seed Amanda Anisimova.
