Mboko ousts Rybakina in Doha quarterfinal
The Canadian recovered from a deciding-set break deficit to defeat the Australian Open champion.

Victoria Mboko defeated Elena Rybakina 7–5, 4–6, 6–4 in the Doha quarterfinals. The Canadian teenager recovered from 4–2 down in the deciding set, winning the final four games to eliminate the reigning Australian Open champion after two hours and twenty-three minutes.
Mboko also reversed a 5–3 deficit in the opening set. Rybakina won the second and regained control early in the third, but Mboko’s late returning surge eventually produced the decisive break on her fourth match point.
The result levelled their tour head-to-head at two victories each. Mboko advanced to face Jelena Ostapenko, who defeated Elisabetta Cocciaretto 7–5, 6–4 and recorded her twenty-fourth match win at the Doha tournament.
