Brisbane interim coach Darryl McDonald called for decisive planning after the Bullets finished last in the NBL. Their final defeat by Sydney was the thirteenth consecutive loss, ending an injury-disrupted season and confirming the club’s lowest placing since 2017–18.

McDonald said the team had completed only four proper training sessions over the preceding two months and praised players for continuing to compete despite limited availability. He described the campaign as difficult while accepting the need to learn from it.

The coach said appointing a head coach and allowing that person to build a suitable roster should be the club’s leading priority. His postgame comments set out the desired approach to the next season without confirming who would receive the position.
