McVeigh and Andrews lead Cairns past Brisbane
The Taipans won 81–72 despite the Bullets collecting 25 offensive rebounds.

Cairns defeated Brisbane 81–72 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, with Jack McVeigh and Andrew Andrews providing decisive contributions. McVeigh scored 17 of his 22 points after half-time, and Andrews finished with 12 points, ten assists and six rebounds.
Brisbane collected 25 offensive rebounds and attempted 25 more shots than Cairns but converted only 36 per cent from the field. Andrews made two late three-pointers to secure the result after the Bullets had recovered from a first-quarter deficit.
Kody Stattmann added 15 for Cairns and Mojave King recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds. Terry Taylor led Brisbane with 25. The result improved Cairns to 9–22 and confirmed last place for Brisbane after its eleventh consecutive defeat.
