Menapians marks twenty-five years with monthly celebrations
The Wexford club planned athletics and social events throughout its anniversary year.
Source publication date:
Menapians AC marked twenty-five years since its formation in February 2001, announcing celebrations every month during 2026. The Wexford club began with ten senior members and later grew to almost 300 at its membership peak.
A juvenile section was introduced in 2005 following a proposal by John Dempsey and Jimmy O’Neill. The club now supports juvenile, senior and masters athletes across track and field, road running, cross-country and mountain running, alongside a growing Fit4Life group.
Members met for an anniversary meal on 7 February after hosting a January training roadshow attended by nearly fifty people. Planned celebrations included track events, obstacle racing, dance and yoga sessions, combining club athletics with opportunities for members to socialise.
