Metz wins opening French Champions League derby
Hana Goda supplied the closing point in a 3–1 quarterfinal victory over Saint-Denis.

Metz took a 3–1 lead against Saint-Denis in the opening leg of their women’s Champions League quarterfinal. The all-French encounter began with a win for the visitors before Metz produced three consecutive match victories to establish an advantage ahead of the return.
Li Jie defeated Hana Goda in four games to give Saint-Denis the first point. Charlotte Lutz brought Metz level by beating Hana Arapovic, also in four games, before Mariia Tailakova faced Prithika Pavade in the tightest contest of the evening.
Tailakova prevailed 6–3 in the short fifth game, putting Metz in front. Goda then returned to defeat Arapovic in straight games, completing the home win and leaving Saint-Denis with the task of overturning the deficit.
