Océane Michelon won the Olympic women’s 12.5-kilometre biathlon mass start in 37:18.1, leading a French one-two ahead of Julia Simon. Czechia’s Tereza Voborníková took bronze, 7.4 seconds behind, for her first medal at a major championship.
Michelon missed two targets but recovered an eight-second deficit after the final shooting stage. She passed Simon, Anna Magnusson and Voborníková on the closing loop in heavy snowfall to earn the first senior victory of her career.
Magnusson finished fourth after clean shooting, and Dorothea Wierer placed fifth in her final competition. Simon’s silver was her fourth medal of the Games, while Michelon converted her strong skiing finish into Olympic gold after earlier sprint silver.
