Federica Moroni won the Italian women’s 50km championship in 3:24:00 at Porto Recanati, improving Laura Gotti’s 2017 national record by ten seconds. The victory gave Moroni a fifth national title and added the 50km mark to her existing Italian 100km record.

Sara Ceccolini finished second on her debut at the distance in 3:24:23, with Sarah Giomi third in 3:26:37. The championship formed part of the Ultramaratona del Conero programme on the Adriatic roads.

Alessio Terrasi won the men’s title in 2:55:50, his third 50km championship in four years. Dario Pietro Ferrante finished second in 2:56:54 and Giacomo Ambrosini third in 3:10:41, completing the senior podiums under variable coastal wind conditions.
