Naegohyang defeated Ho Chi Minh City 3-0 in Vientiane to reach the AFC Women’s Champions League semi-finals. The DPR Korean club dominated their quarter-final at the Lao National Stadium and maintained their progress through a debut campaign.
The Vietnamese side resisted several early attempts before Kim Hye Yong headed in Ri Myong Gum’s delivery shortly before half-time. Ho Chi Minh City made changes after the interval, but goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh remained busy as Naegohyang continued attacking.
Jong Kum had a goal disallowed for offside before adding a legitimate second with another header. Kim Kyong Yong converted a late penalty after a handball, completing the victory and securing a meeting with Wuhan Jiangda or Suwon FC Women.
