Sandra Näslund and Tim Hronek won the opening Ski Cross World Cup races in Kopaonik. Näslund led the women’s final throughout, beating Jade Grillet Aubert by 0.71 seconds, with Marielle Berger Sabbatel third and Hannah Schmidt fourth.

The Swedish athlete earned a record-extending forty-fifth individual World Cup victory. Her result also gave Sweden its hundredth ski cross World Cup win overall, a national total exceeded only by Canada at the time.

Reece Howden crossed the men’s finish first but received a yellow card for line deviation and was placed fourth. Contact earlier in the final caused three skiers to fall, with Hronek becoming the winner after recovering sufficiently to complete the race and earn his first World Cup victory.
