NBL clarified a basket interference decision involving Sydney Kings forward Torrey Craig during the playoff against Perth Wildcats. With Sydney ahead 101–99 and eighty-four seconds remaining, David Duke Jr.'s missed attempt resulted in two points being awarded to Perth.

The league explained that interference can be called when a player makes the basket vibrate or grasps it in a way judged to affect whether the ball enters. Sydney coach Brian Goorjian had criticised the decision after the game.

Officials said the action was reviewed through the replay centre, as permitted during the final two minutes under the instant replay rules. The clarification maintained that the call was correct and addressed the specific decision before the teams' next playoff meeting.
