A new short documentary, Marie: A Warrior's Journey, was released around International Women's Day to examine one player's return to football after breast cancer. The film follows Marie's involvement with Street Football Wales and the confidence and connection she rebuilt through the sport.

Charlotte Barrell developed the documentary with EatSleep Media through the FAW's BE. Football Mentoring Programme. Barrell works for Street Football Wales, an FAW affiliate supporting socially isolated people, and had herself represented the country at the Homeless World Cup in 2023.

Marie played in Wales' eight-woman squad at the 2025 tournament in Oslo, where the team finished seventh. The charity was also preparing to select its next representatives for Mexico City and seeking £50,000 to fund their travel, training and support for the tournament.
