Source publication date:
Paul Coll and Tinne Gilis were named top seeds for the New Zealand Squash Open, scheduled for 3–8 March at Christchurch’s Isaac Theatre Royal. Coll sought a third title after victories in 2023 and 2025, with the previous edition drawing 1,160 spectators.
Joel Makin and Mohamad Zakaria followed Coll among the leading men’s seeds. Tinne Gilis headed the women’s field ahead of Salma Hany, while her sister Nele, the 2023 champion, occupied the opposite portion of their shared half of the draw.
Four New Zealand players received wildcards: Oliver Dunbar, Elijah Thomas, Kaitlyn Watts and Ella Lash. Former champion Joelle King was also included for her first event of the season. The January report confirmed entries and pairings before the later competition took place.
