Nimbona runs within eleven seconds of Italian half marathon record
The recent Italian citizen finishes tenth in Berlin with a personal best of 1:08:38.

Elvanie Nimbona improved her half marathon personal best to 1:08:38 in Berlin, moving to third on Italy’s all-time list. The performance left her eleven seconds behind the national record shared by Nadia Ejjafini and Sofiia Yaremchuk.
The twenty-eight-year-old Caivano Runners athlete, originally from Burundi, became an Italian citizen in December and lives in Pomigliano d’Arco. Her previous best was 1:09:00, set in 2025. In Berlin she passed 10km in 32:09 and 15km in 48:29.
Nimbona finished tenth as Ethiopia’s Likina Amebaw won in 1:05:07. Daisilah Jerono and Veronica Loleo completed the women’s podium in 1:05:21 and 1:05:35. In the men’s race, Germany’s Amanal Petros set a national record of 59:22 for third place.
