Norway and France win European biathlon relay titles
Isak Leknes Frey tied the championship’s career gold record as France topped the medal campaign.

Norway’s men and France’s women won the closing relays at the Open European Biathlon Championships in Sjusjøen. Norway finished the men’s race in 1:17:08.4 with one penalty loop and eight spare rounds, beating Germany by 6.5 seconds. France took bronze.
Anchor Isak Leknes Frey earned his sixth championship gold, sharing the career record with three other athletes. He finished the competition with two gold and two silver medals, the largest individual medal haul at the event.
France won the women’s relay in 1:12:53.1 with eight spare rounds, ahead of Germany and Norway. Gillone Guigonnat completed a sprint, pursuit and relay gold treble. France’s five gold medals made it the most successful nation at these championships.
