Jens Luraas Oftebro and Andreas Skoglund won the Olympic Nordic combined team sprint for Norway. Oftebro held off Finland’s Eero Hirvonen by half a second in the final sprint, with Ilkka Herola sharing Finland’s silver and Austria taking bronze.
Johannes Lamparter completed the race for Austria after teammate Stefan Rettenegger fell beyond the twelve-kilometre point. The team finished 22.3 seconds behind Norway in snowy conditions that affected both the earlier jumping and the cross-country race.
The victory gave Oftebro his third gold at Milano Cortina and fourth Olympic title overall, matching Jørgen Graabak’s Nordic combined record. Skoglund earned his first Olympic medal in the event’s first appearance using the team sprint format.
