Odugbesan wins pentathlon as para juniors impress
The opening championship day produced personal bests across combined and para events.

Tiana Odugbesan won the under-seventeen women’s pentathlon at England’s Indoor Combined Event Championships with 3,521 points. Elysia Chilvers finished second on 3,437 and claimed the English title, eight points ahead of Sophie Horsfall-Samb in a closely contested competition.
Odugbesan’s final-round long jump of 5.67 metres built the advantage she defended in the concluding eight hundred metres. Chilvers cleared 1.66 in the high jump, while Horsfall-Samb recorded a shot-put personal best of 12.79 metres.
The Junior Para Championships also produced standout doubles. Elliott Griffiths reached 6.17 metres in the long jump and ran a sixty-metre best of 7.58. Macey Hand jumped a personal best of 4.68 metres and won her sixty-metre race in 8.96.
