Oftebro wins Seefeld Triple with late sprint

Jens Luraas Oftebro won the Nordic Combined Triple in Seefeld after a late surge in the concluding 12.5-kilometre Gundersen race. The Norwegian passed long-time leader Stefan Rettenegger in the closing stages to earn his tenth individual World Cup victory.
Rettenegger finished second, with defending Triple champion Vinzenz Geiger third. Oftebro had started seventh, one minute and six seconds behind the Austrian, after jumping 94 metres. Rettenegger’s 102-metre jump had given him the initial advantage.
Einar Luraas Oftebro finished fourth and Johannes Lamparter fifth. Austria’s Mario Seidl marked his final World Cup appearance with a 99-metre jump and forty-third place, ending his international World Cup career alongside the conclusion of the Seefeld programme.
