Oino wins Paris under-81kg title with yuko

Yuhei Oino won the men’s under-81kg title at the Paris Grand Slam after defeating Zelim Tckaev in the final. The Japanese competitor scored a yuko with a de-ashi-harai around the halfway point, creating an advantage that the Azerbaijani could not overturn.

Tckaev increased the pressure after conceding, but Oino controlled the remaining time to secure gold. The category opened the second day’s men’s medal programme in the Accor Arena, with both finalists having progressed through their earlier rounds to reach the title contest.

Egor Sukhoparov claimed bronze by scoring a yuko against Yoshito Hojo with only two seconds remaining. Kazakhstan’s Abylaikhan Zhubanazar won the other bronze against Bernd Fasching, his early kata-guruma score proving decisive as neither athlete added another score before the match ended.
