Oliynykova and Snigur reach first tour semifinals
Two Ukrainians advanced in Cluj-Napoca, with Oliynykova saving twenty-one break points against Wang.

Oleksandra Oliynykova and Daria Snigur reached their first tour semifinals at the Transylvania Open. The results marked the first time since Ukrainian independence that two players from the country had advanced together to the last four of a WTA tournament.
Oliynykova defeated Wang Xinyu 6–4, 6–4 while saving twenty-one of twenty-three break points. She conceded serve only in the opening game of each set, recording her first victory over a top-fifty opponent and setting up a semifinal against Emma Raducanu.
Qualifier Snigur defeated Yuan Yue 4–6, 6–0, 7–5 in the day’s final quarterfinal. Her next opponent was Sorana Cirstea, who eliminated defending champion Anastasia Potapova in straight sets.
