IBU president Olle Dahlin received the Olympic Order from IOC president Kirsty Coventry during the closing IOC Session at Milano Cortina. The award recognised his contribution to international sport and the Olympic movement following his leadership of biathlon since 2018.

Coventry highlighted Dahlin’s work on governance, restoring trust and placing athletes at the centre of the federation. Her remarks also identified the IBU’s Target 26 strategy as part of its effort to modernise administration and strengthen international development.

Dahlin accepted the award on behalf of the wider biathlon community, crediting executive board colleagues, national federations, partners and staff. The ceremony gave formal IOC recognition to the president’s work during an Olympic fortnight hosted at Italy’s established Antholz biathlon venue.
