Ostapenko survives Paolini comeback to reach Miami fourth round
Pegula advanced comfortably while Baptiste upset Svitolina.

Jelena Ostapenko defeated Jasmine Paolini 5–7, 6–2, 7–5 in a two-hour-thirty-three-minute Miami Open third-round match. The Latvian recovered from losing the opening set and then survived a second comeback after the Italian erased a 4–0 deficit in the decider.
Ostapenko broke again late and converted her third match point with a twelfth ace, moving ahead 3–2 in their rivalry. She advanced to face Hailey Baptiste, who defeated Elina Svitolina 6–3, 7–5 for her second career victory over a top-ten opponent.
Jessica Pegula beat Leylah Fernandez 6–2, 6–2 in sixty-six minutes, saving both break points she faced with aces. Jaqueline Cristian also progressed, recovering from 4–2 down in the third set against Ekaterina Alexandrova to reach her first WTA 1000 fourth round.
