New media facilities and expanded snowmaking supported the returning World Cup.

Otepää’s Tehvandi Sport Centre continued preparations for the 2027 Biathlon World Championships as the World Cup returned to Estonia. Venue upgrades included a new television compound, a multifunctional sports hall serving as the media centre, expanded snowmaking capacity and additional spectator stands along the courses.
Organising committee president Aivar Nigol reported more than fifty days of frost during the winter, allowing staff to establish the necessary snow base. The 2026 sprint, pursuit and mixed relay programme served as a rehearsal for the following year’s championship preparations.
Tehvandi hosted the Baltic region’s first World Cup in 2022. Its biathlon tradition began with Estonia’s first shooting range in 1970, and the current complex includes two ranges, ski trails and a K90 jump.
