Ouattara’s late strike wins Newcastle thriller for Brentford
A goal and an assist marked his hundredth Premier League appearance.

Dango Ouattara decided a five-goal contest as Brentford beat Newcastle United 3-2 at St James’ Park. On his hundredth Premier League appearance, the Burkina Faso international supplied an assist and then scored the winner with five minutes remaining.
Sven Botman headed Newcastle ahead before Vitaly Janelt converted Ouattara’s cross to equalise. Igor Thiago’s penalty put Brentford in front before the interval after Jacob Murphy handled a Mathias Jensen shot. Bruno Guimaraes answered with another penalty in the 79th minute.
Ouattara then restored Brentford’s advantage with a low finish. Their second successive away victory brought them level on points with Liverpool ahead of the Reds’ next match, while Newcastle occupied twelfth place.
