Padel was confirmed as a medal sport for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. The Games were scheduled for 19 September–4 October. FIP said the confirmation followed a memorandum of understanding signed with the organising committee and the Olympic Council of Asia.

Under the agreement, the International Padel Federation would take primary responsibility for planning and sporting delivery of the competition. It would work with the local organising committee under the council’s governance, establishing a formal framework for the sport’s tournament within the multisport event.

The memorandum built on November’s decision to include padel after the Olympic Council of Asia recognised FIP. Federation president Luigi Carraro welcomed the development and the sport’s expansion across Asia. The March announcement said further details of the padel competition would be released later.
