Padel was confirmed as a medal sport at the Istanbul 2027 European Games, scheduled for 16–27 June. The European Olympic Committees’ Executive Committee and the local organising committee approved its place in an event set to feature twenty-six sports and athletes from forty-nine countries.

The sport debuted at Kraków–Małopolska in 2023, where finals took place on a court in the historic Market Square. FIP reported around twenty thousand spectators, twenty-three participating countries and more than one hundred players competing in men’s, women’s and mixed events.

FIP President Luigi Carraro welcomed the continuing connection with the Olympic movement and thanked national federations and organisers. EOC President Spyros Capralos connected the inclusion with innovation and engagement of younger audiences. Istanbul organising president Veli Ozan Çakır welcomed another international platform for padel’s growth in Türkiye.
