Panathinaikos secured the two sets required against domestic rivals Panionios by winning the opening frames 25–17 and 25–18. They then lost two sets before taking the tie-break 15–8, completing a second victory and confirming the Greek club’s progression.
Vallefoglia reached the final in their first European campaign after eliminating Kaposvár. Panathinaikos returned to a European final for the third time, with coach Alessandro Chiappini crediting the players’ focus, patience and block-defence performance during the decisive opening part of the return match.
