Paris completes Kvitfjell speed double in super-G finale
Kriechmayr and Haaser finished on the race and season podiums behind Odermatt’s title.
Source publication date:
Dominik Paris won the final men’s super-G in Kvitfjell, completing a downhill and super-G double over consecutive days. His eighth World Cup victory at the venue made him its most successful men’s speed racer, edging Vincent Kriechmayr by seven-hundredths of a second on a soft, salted course.
Raphael Haaser finished third, 0.38 seconds behind, and rose to third in the discipline standings. That season position was decided by one point over Giovanni Franzoni, who placed fifth after an error in the lower part of his run at the Norwegian finale.
Marco Odermatt finished nineteenth but received the already-secured super-G globe, his fourth consecutive title. Kriechmayr completed the season second, while Paris’s closing victories provided the weekend’s strongest speed performances.
