Paris high diving will use twenty-metre men’s platform
European Aquatics described a first-time height change for its senior championship programme.
Source publication date:
European Aquatics confirmed that the men’s high diving competition at its Paris championships would use a twenty-metre platform rather than twenty-seven metres for the first time. The change was set out in the federation’s assessment of the discipline’s 2026 season and continental championship plans.
The federation said the format could offer opportunities for athletes with traditional pool diving backgrounds while retaining high diving’s demands for precision and execution. The wider Paris championships are scheduled from 31 July to 16 August, providing the senior European title setting for the revised height.
The European men’s field includes Spain’s Carlos Gimeno, a silver medallist at the 2025 World Championships, and Romania’s Constantin Popovici. Among the women, Ginni van Katwijk placed sixth at those championships, while Nelli Chukanivska finished sixth in the cliff diving series standings.
