The Paris 2024 Olympic competition pool was reassembled at the Aquarena complex in Sevran, with public access scheduled from 9 February. The facility replaces an older four-lane pool and gives the town a larger swimming resource using the venue where Léon Marchand won four individual Olympic golds.
The project cost 29.1 million euros from several public bodies, including 12.9 million from city authorities. The pool was dismantled after the Paralympics, stored nearby and delivered to Sevran in September before reconstruction over the following two months.
An inauguration on 31 January attracted 1,900 people, including Olympic relay medallists Maxime Grousset and Yohann Ndoye-Brouard. The reopened pool was named in recognition of Marchand, linking the community facility with the Games’ sporting history.
