Parsons strikes late as Chippenham defeat Maidstone
A 96th-minute goal secured a 1–0 home win.
Source publication date:
Chippenham Town beat Maidstone United 1–0 through Harry Parsons's goal six minutes into stoppage time. The late breakthrough left Maidstone with one win in seven matches and placed them thirteenth, eight points outside the playoff positions.
The visitors had threatened through Muhammadu Faal, who drew saves from Will Henry either side of the interval. John Gilbert also had a goal ruled out for offside after converting a scuffed effort from Sam Corne.
Chippenham became more dangerous as the second half progressed. Substitute Anointed Chukwu struck the post from Sol Wanjau-Smith's delivery before Parsons eventually supplied the winning finish. Maidstone's late efforts were insufficient to prevent another setback in their pursuit of the playoffs.
