Tobias Paur and Andreas Hofer won the Alpine Luge World Cup doubles race in Umhausen with a time of 1:21.25. Austria’s Maximilian Pichler and Nico Edlinger finished ten hundredths behind, while Peter and Matthias Lambacher took third, 0.74 seconds back.

The victory was the Italian pair’s first of the season and third of their World Cup careers. It also repeated their previous success at Umhausen, where the Grantau track’s twelve corners again suited their racing performance.

Above-freezing temperatures left the 955-metre course wet, requiring extensive preparation before competition. The reigning junior world champions, Gabriel and Samuel Halcin, finished fourth, while the World Cup field prepared to race an eliminator event on the following day.
