Pellicoro moves fourth on Italy’s indoor eight-hundred list
A Philadelphia victory brought a personal best of 2:00.93.

Laura Pellicoro won an eight-hundred-metre race in Philadelphia in 2:00.93, improving her indoor personal best by more than a second. The Bracco Atletica runner had recorded 2:02.15 while winning the Italian championship in Ancona the previous weekend.
The new time moved Pellicoro up two places to fourth on Italy’s all-time indoor list. It came just three hundredths outside the automatic entry standard of 2:00.90 for the World Indoor Championships in Toruń, leaving her to await possible invitations based on season rankings.
The twenty-five-year-old lives and trains in the United States. Her performance also approached her outdoor best of 2:00.84, following a career that includes double gold in the eight hundred and fifteen hundred metres at the 2023 World University Games.
