Phoenix controls offensive boards to beat Adelaide again

South East Melbourne defeated Adelaide 97–77 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, its second substantial victory over the 36ers in two weeks. The Phoenix collected 23 offensive rebounds and attempted 19 more shots, compensating for a field-goal percentage of 39.
John Brown III finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds and five assists, including nine offensive boards. Nathan Sobey led the scoring with 19, and Owen Foxwell added 16. Six Phoenix players scored in double figures as the team regained second place at 20–9.
Bryce Cotton scored 26 for Adelaide and Flynn Cameron 21. The home side was without suspended centre Nick Rakocevic, while Isaac Humphries played limited minutes with a sore knee. Adelaide’s record fell to 21–8 following the defeat.
