Lucas Pinheiro Braathen won the giant slalom finale in Hafjell and secured Brazil’s first alpine skiing Crystal Globe. He defeated Loïc Meillard by 0.58 seconds and Atle Lie McGrath by 0.87 after Marco Odermatt, the standings leader entering the race, failed to complete the first run.

Pinheiro Braathen led Meillard by 0.21 seconds at halfway and needed a podium to make the title certain. A controlled second descent retained the advantage, completing the season on 547 points against Odermatt’s 495, with Meillard third in the discipline classification.

It was Pinheiro Braathen’s second career globe after the 2023 slalom title while representing Norway. The result followed his switch to represent his mother’s homeland and Brazil’s first Olympic alpine gold during the same winter.
