Portugal defeated Hungary 1-0 in a women’s under-17 European qualifier at Cidade do Futebol in Oeiras. The Hungarian side defended effectively for most of the match before a ball rebounded off Raquel Vitorino into the net in the 95th minute.

Goalkeeper Olívia Galambvári made several saves, including a strong intervention to turn Matilde Matos’s second-half effort over the crossbar. Hungary also threatened before halftime when Olivia Pethe’s delivery narrowly escaped Adél Tóth, but neither team scored during the opening period.

Coach László Makrai praised Hungary’s discipline and said the performance showed improvement on the earlier qualifying meeting with Portugal. The late defeat left the team preparing to continue its group programme against Spain three days later, still seeking its first points.
