Prevc secures third consecutive overall globe in Lahti
A 14.2-point win over Stroem delivered her fifteenth success of the season.

Nika Prevc won the opening women’s World Cup in Lahti with 296.7 points and secured her third consecutive overall Crystal Globe. Jumps of 128.5 and 124.5 metres put her 14.2 points ahead of Anna Odine Stroem, with Nozomi Maruyama third on 270.8.
Prevc became the third ski jumper to win three successive overall titles, following Adam Malysz and Maren Lundby. Her fifteenth victory of the season also matched the existing women’s season record, leaving the remaining events as opportunities to establish a new mark.
Eirin Maria Kvandal placed fourth and Lisa Eder fifth. Gyda Westvold Hansen rose six positions to sixth for her best ski jumping World Cup result, while junior world silver medallist Ingvild Synnoeve Midtskogen finished twenty-seventh after returning to the senior circuit.
