Nika Prevc won the first women’s ski flying World Cup held in Planica, scoring 405.3 points from jumps of 228.5 and 221 metres. The Slovenian delighted more than thirty thousand spectators and recorded her eighteenth victory of the season at the historic event.

Eirin Maria Kvandal finished second with 388.1 points, securing the ski flying Crystal Globe after her two Vikersund victories. Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama took third on 361.7. Prevc finished the overall campaign with a record 2,676 points, surpassing brother Peter’s previous seasonal total.

Thirteen women contested the finale after qualification through the leading fifteen overall places. Germany’s Katharina Schmid completed the last two jumps of her career, ending a World Cup record that included twenty-two individual wins and multiple world championship titles.
