Source publication date:

Benjamin Pritchard won a second consecutive PR1 men’s single-sculls world title at the Bosbaan in Amsterdam on 29 August 2026. The British rower completed the final in 8:50.46, a championship-best time.

Australia’s Erik Horrie took silver and Ukraine’s Roman Polianskyi bronze. Pritchard’s victory added another global championship success to his record as a Paralympic champion and Swansea Rowing Club athlete.

The time was a championship best, not an improvement on his separate world-best performance of 8:40.38. Keeping those categories distinct matters when describing rowing records, which are also affected by course and racing conditions.

The result belongs to the completed Amsterdam World Rowing Championships. It is preserved here with its August event date and a separate date showing when the report was added to iintroo.
