Monica Puig participated in a maternal-health panel at the Abu Dhabi Open, using her experience as a new mother to highlight the WTA Foundation’s Global Women’s Health Fund. Bloomberg presenter Joumanna Bercetche moderated the discussion, which connected tennis’s platform with wider access to nutrition and care.
Puig discussed the support she received during pregnancy and after childbirth, while recognising that many women lack comparable services. The fund supports UNICEF’s work addressing gaps in maternal nutrition, including access to prenatal vitamins.
Representatives from the WTA Foundation, Mubadala and UNICEF joined the panel. Their discussion placed women’s health alongside the structures that allow athletes and other women to manage motherhood, work and long-term wellbeing.
