Sara Bejlek won her first tour singles title by defeating Ekaterina Alexandrova 7–6, 6–1 in Abu Dhabi. The twenty-year-old arrived ranked number 101, came through two qualifying matches and completed seven victories in eight days to secure the WTA 500 championship.

Bejlek recovered from 4–2 down in the opening tiebreak by winning five of the final six points. She then broke immediately in the second set and pulled away, becoming the tournament’s first qualifier and first Czech singles champion.

The title was set to take Bejlek into the top fifty. Alexandrova still collected the doubles trophy with Maya Joint after they defeated Tereza Mihalikova and Olivia Nicholls in a deciding match tiebreak.
