Queensland formally submitted a bid to host the inaugural World Paddle Games in 2030, according to the ICF’s 27 May announcement. Paddle Australia’s proposal would combine ten world championships and almost 6000 athletes in a multi-venue festival.

The proposed programme brought Olympic and Paralympic disciplines together with marathon, ocean racing, freestyle, polo, dragon boat and stand-up paddling. Gold Coast waters and the Redland Whitewater Centre were identified as potential venues, connecting the bid to preparations for Brisbane 2032.

The stated economic impact above AUD200 million was a projection, not a measured return. The ICF said the submission would undergo detailed review before a planned board decision on 25 July. This historical report records the bid’s submission stage; it does not treat Queensland as an awarded host on the basis of that announcement.
