Rab double rescues Hungary under-18s in Switzerland
Hungary recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2.

Hungary’s under-18 men recovered a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Switzerland in Carouge. Bence Rab scored both Hungarian goals as Máté Gerliczki began his competitive tenure with a point in the new League A European qualifying programme.
Nevio Scherrer put the hosts ahead and a Rab own goal doubled Switzerland’s lead. Rab replied before halftime after a corner, then volleyed in his second from Benjámin Gólik’s headed pass in the sixtieth minute to bring Hungary level.
Goalkeeper Esery Desmond made important saves, while the Swiss also struck the woodwork during a lively match. Zsombor Varga was sent off late on, but Hungary preserved the draw. France and Wales remained as the team’s next opponents in the Swiss group.
